Menarche

Our Menarche is our first bleed. Around this transformational time, we are opening up to ourselves, our gifts and what we are here to be within our community for the first time. A time of deep becoming, an initiation into our embodied cyclical power and our calling. Being seen, felt and witnessed during this journey of feeling who we are here to be is essential for our emotional, physical and spiritual grounding. However, many of us went through our first bleed without this being marked as a sacred time, and many also received messages about themselves that were steeped in harm and shame. This lack of support and the enforcing of harmful views has caused many of us to still hold onto to the emotions that were moving through us at this time. This is holding us back, keeping us as wounded maidens. By taking the time to go back to this stage in your life and honouring your first bleed, you will be able to gift yourself what you needed all along as you reclaim this journey of becoming and receive confirmation of who you truly are.

Why a Menarche Ceremony?

My prayer for this Menarche offering is to provide a sacred space for you to:

Be gifted what was needed during this time and be witnessed in this deep transformation
Come into deeper connection with your body and cycle as a guide as you walk this earth
Be honoured as a as a womban of this earth, reclaim your creative power and feel into your true calling
Release harmful and shame-fuelled stories about your bleed, cycle, anatomy and body as a whole that you received around the time of your first bleed
Process any trauma that you went through around this time that was not tended to as it should have been and be held through this

What to expect?

We will have a pre-ceremony call where we will explore your first bleed together. This is both so I can gain a deeper insight into your experience but also to support you to think back to this time, remember your "first bleed story" and feel into what you needed during this time. I will then ask you to prepare for the ceremony by gathering items (a photo or symbol of you at this age, a small amount of your menstrual blood or something that represents this, a gift that you would like to give to your younger self).

The ceremony will then either be held in person or on zoom where I will guide you through. If held via zoom I will also send you items via post for you to use within the ceremony.

We will then have an integration call 1-2 weeks following on from the ceremony and continued support will be available via email.
